Tet

We said farewell to Andrew's parents, but not before a meal at our favourite restaurant - Quan An Ngon. A renovated old French villa where the cities best hawkers have been invited to set up a stall. So when you order the meal will come from one of the hawkers. But be warned - you have to reserve a seat days in advance! And on the day they left Andrew took his parents to the local "Bier Hoi" for a Tiger beer and the best BBQ chilli prawns in town. We might call it the "rathouse" (as sightings have been made!!) and it has jars of preserved snakes for sale, but they do an awesome meal and the waitresses all know Flynn and Hamish and they them. So that was the trip complete for John and Angela from some of the classiest restaurants to our little local haunts.
Then it was just a few short weeks and we back to the airport greeting Rex and Judi - Jaom's parents. The boys were so excited with a hand written sign waiting for them to come through the gates.

Their first week here was in HCMC as Andrew continued to work. They were a great relief for Jaom as both eased her workload of caring for the boys during the day as she slowly recovered from a bout of pneumonia. During this time Saigon was getting ready for Tet - the Lunar New Year - where the city is decked out in flowers and the city comes to a grinding halt as shops close and people go on holiday.
